In March 2020, Tom Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after spend 20 seasons — and winning multiple Super Bowls — with the New England Patriots. The following year, he led the Bucs to victory, racking up their seventh Super Bowl win. And then, in February 2022, he announced his retirement, leading many to believe that he was done with the game once and for all.
A little over a month later, the field marshal took Twitter to share the surprising news. “These last two months I have realized that my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady wrote. “That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates and I love my family who supports me. They make anything possible. I’ll be back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG.” Basically all of Twitter did the record scratch sound effect at the same time.
