What Jason Momoa Really Thinks About His Baywatch Days

Jason Momoa wasn’t a huge fan of his “Baywatch” stint, even though it put him on the map. The actor starred in the Hawaiian spin-off of the hit show from 1999 to 2001: at the time, he was only 19 years old. Everyone had to start somewhere, right? But even though the actor appeared on a popular show, that doesn’t mean he’s going to brag about it.

Speaking on the Australian radio show “Fitzy and Wippa” In 2021, the “Aquaman” star admitted that “Baywatch” isn’t a regular topic of conversation between his two children, whom he shares with his now-ex, Lisa Bonet. “We don’t say the B word at home. We hide all that stuff, dude!” she said of the show. “It never happened, man! We don’t talk about those words. The B word didn’t happen.” Momoa also shared that she doesn’t let her children see the “old stuff” of her career, but allows them to see her most recent work involving superheroes instead of movies like “Conan the Barbarian.”

In another interview with the daily beastMomoa discussed the irony of getting the role of “Aquaman” all those years later, which has a similar shirtless vibe to the role he once played on the lifeguard series. “It’s a trip,” she told the medium. “I spent 15 years trying to get out of the ‘Baywatch’ hole, and now I’m Aquaman. Life is very Okay.”
