Max Verstappen is the only person to have won back-to-back races at the Mexican Grand Prix, and the Red Bull driver is hoping to repeat the feat for a second time.
The Dutchman, who has already won this year’s F1 World Championship, has previously won the 2017, 2018 and 2021 editions of the Mexican Grand Prix. Although British driver Jim Clark won the 1962, 1963 and 1967 races, the 1962 Grand Prix was not a championship and Clark shared the drive with Trevor Taylor.
As a result, Verstappen is the only driver to have won back-to-back Grand Prix races at Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez and also the only driver to have won the race three times. Meanwhile, his rival Lewis Hamilton won the race in 2016 and 2019 after the venue returned to the F1 calendar in 2015 after a 23-year absence.
And Verstappen could also break the record for most races won in a single season, having equaled Michael Schumacher and Sebastien Vettel’s record of 13 with his victory at the United States Grand Prix.

And Verstappen is already looking forward to next season, where he hopes to win a third F1 world title. “It’s not about what’s left to test, it’s more about learning more about the car, what we can apply next year,” he said.
“Of course, we will try to win [the last three races], but that naturally comes if the car is in good shape, a good window, that’s what we always try to achieve. Luckily it was good enough again in Austin, but here we have to work from scratch because it’s a completely new car. That’s the same for everyone, but I’m looking forward to it.”
