The Mission: Impossible series has become synonymous with outrageous stunts. From Tom Cruise hanging from the side of a flying plane to running up (and down) the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the film series’ stunts get bigger and better with each installment. Cruise just released a behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming seventh film, Dead Reckoning Part One, where he showed off his planning process for an outrageous stunt.

The stunt in question takes place in Norway, and over a riveting nine minutes, Cruise proved that skydiving off a cliff while riding a motorcycle wasn’t as easy as it might seem.
Instead, he, his director Christopher McQuarrie, and the world-class professional stunt team gathered countless data to emulate what his jump might look like.
The video, which can be viewed below, takes fans from the concept of the stunt to its execution with Ethan Hunt precision.
As if that wasn’t enough, Cruise bragged about acting out this piece of movie history no less than six times in one day. And that’s between the 30 skydives a day and the countless car chases and stunt scenes.
Over the weekend, Cruise took another look at the Mission: Impossible process as he thanked his fans.
He sent his viewers a video message while jumping out of a helicopter to thank them for their support. This followed the news that Top Gun: Maverick had made $1.4 billion at the box office.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One hits theaters on July 14, 2023. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two will be released on June 28, 2024.
