According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, “His family’s tribute suggested that Carr had been battling health problems.” Nick Diunte, Forbes Baseball Contributor tweeted on November 13, 2022: “Chuck Carr, a key center fielder on the Florida Marlins’ inaugural team, has died at age 55 after battling cancer. He led the National League in steals in 1993. He also played for the Mets, Cardinals, Astros and Brewers in an eight-year MLB career.”
Carr became a legend after he reached third base on “two balls, no strike,” according to the daily mail, and when asked about it, he replied, “That’s not Chuckie’s game.
