Paul McCartney – The hotel made me clean up after the dog made a mess on the floor

The Beatles legend was given a bucket of sand after his Dalmatian Lucky made a mess in the hallway, a new book has revealed. Sir Paul was on tour with his band Wings when things went wrong.

Drummer Denny Seiwell recalled a night in York in the 1970s when a hotel worker ordered Sir Paul to clean up. During an interview for The McCartney Legacy, Denny said: “In York, there was a night clerk named Cyril.

“We were all hanging out in this little room, and a bucket of sand appears, like a child’s bucket of sand.

“He says, ‘Does one of you guys own that dog with the black and white spots?’ Paul says, ‘Oh yeah, that’s Lucky. He is mine.’ He’s like, ‘Well, he shit in the hallway, you’re going to have to clean it up.

Sir Paul has form when it comes to his animals behaving inappropriately.

He revealed last week how his pet pony Jet once pooped on the famous Abbey Road zebra crossing.

The 80-year-old said his daughter Mary, now 53, had pestered him into letting her take Jet for a walk to Abbey Road Studios, just down the road from the McCartney family home in St John’s Wood. .

During the trip to the studios in 1977, the pony messed up the famous crossroads, used on the cover of the Beatles’ Abbey Road album.

Sir Paul said: “We lived nearby and we had a little pony called Jet. We were coming to do something and Mary brought Jet over.

“He ‘did’ the zebra crossing. I think he disgraced himself because of that.”

The McCartney Legacy also claims that Sir Paul allowed Wings’ tour costs to spiral out of control.

The book describes how he was “presented with a staggering bill for the first four days of tour expenses.” He reveals: “The group’s expenses were totally out of control.

“The band’s concert fee, plus merchandise revenue, barely covered their hotel and travel costs, particularly when they were all staying in fancy hotels.”

Wings was formed in 1971 by Sir Paul after the Beatles sensationally broke up.

The lineup featured his late wife Linda on keyboards, session drummer Denny Seiwell, and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine. They had 12 top 10 singles in the UK.
