Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland update release date, time, and patch notes

Overwatch 2 fans are counting down to the launch of this year’s Winter Wonderland event. Overwatch’s next event has a release date of December 13 and a release time of 6pm GMT in the UK. The Winter Wonderland event is the first to drop during Season 2, which launched last week. It lasts three weeks and ends on January 4. It will be replaced by the new Battle for Olympus event.

As part of Overwatch 2’s Winter Wonderland event, fans will be able to play a couple of game modes for a limited time, including Mei’s Snowball Offensive.

“In this fight, Mei’s Endothermic Blaster has been modified to fire a single super-powered snowball,” the official description reads.

“Taking down an enemy only takes one hit, but missing can be costly. Once your weapon is empty, search for the nearest snowpile to reload.

“When the battle starts to heat up, you can activate Mei’s Ultimate, which turns her blaster into an automatic snowball launcher, allowing you to fire continuously as your enemies scatter.”

There is also a good chance that the Yeti Hunt game mode will appear.

This particular fight pits five players against one Yeti player, who uses Winston’s abilities. He’s a bit like Evolve.

“The Yeti must gather meat to unlock a powerful Primary Rage ability, making it immune to Mei’s Freeze abilities and granting it other, more powerful bonuses to take down Hunters.

“Mei players also have a new tool in their arsenal: a ‘Yeti Trap’ ult to root their prey in place.

“Yeti players must survive long enough to take out the enemy Meis before they take him down. Which side will emerge victorious out of the snow?”

Fans can also expect to see festive cosmetics in the item shop, as well as holiday decorations and snow on various maps.
