One Direction’s 2023 reunion looks “better than ever”

One Direction went on hiatus in 2015 following the abrupt departure of Zayn Malik. The young star confessed that she wanted to live a “normal” life, before leaving the band’s world tour. A year later, in 2016, the band officially announced that they had broken up, and fans have been calling for their reunion ever since. Well finally, 2023 could be the year of Directioners.

The latest odds from Ladbrokes suggest that a One Direction reunion is not only likely, but will happen later this year.

The bookies have given the band a staggering 1/2 to get back together in 2023. Seven years after the band broke up, their odds of reuniting are better than ever, but there are still plenty of questions to be asked.

For example, will Zayn join the meeting? The star recently announced that he is working on his fourth album, so he may be a bit busy for a while. Also, he previously condemned 1D’s music after he left the band.

Zayn told Fader, “That’s not music I would listen to. Would you listen to One Direction, would you sit at a party with your girl? I wouldn’t.”

To make things even more complex, Ladbrokes also posted some odds on One Direction getting a spot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. The full lineup for the landmark event has yet to be announced, but so far, rumors have been surfacing the internet that 1D might be making some sort of comeback for the band.

Ladbrokes recently gave One Direction 11/10 odds to claim a spot at Glastonbury 2023. However, Niall Horan has previously pointed out that Glastonbury may never be in the cards for the group.

In 2015, Horan said that 1D would “never” play Glastonbury. He added: “We’re not cool enough to play Glastonbury.”

Despite this, Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said: “The odds of a mega boyband reunion only go one way, and with the Glastonbury slots on the line, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Harry Styles and company return this year.”

These promising odds follow Louis Tomlinson’s hopeful comments about wanting to get back together with his bandmates.

Tomlinson recently confessed: “It would be a real shame if we didn’t get back together. [Right now] everyone is pretty busy with what they do right now, but I’m sure one day [we’ll get back together]. I’d be surprised if we don’t.”

He added that the band is still “very close.” He continued: “The bond we share growing up through such a crazy and incredible, yet sometimes chaotic experience… That’s a lifelong bond.”
