The Hobbit and Beauty and the Beast star Luke Evans is currently 14-1 to be the next Bond. If he got the part, he would be the second Welsh actor to play 007 after Timothy Dalton and the first gay star.
Appearing on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, the 43-year-old was asked directly if he was willing to be Craig’s replacement. He sheepishly replied: “The new James Bond? Who knows. Nobody knows. I mean he would be nice, right? Don’t waste it.
That’s certainly not a no, but given that he’s in his mid-40s, he might be overlooked given that producer Michael G Wilson admitted a few months back that someone in his mid-thirties is what they’re looking for. In fact, there is an actor in that age range who is rumored to have had a gun barrel screen test.
