Next Bond – Daniel Craig on what he wants for the 007 reboot

Over the past 60 years, James Bond has killed many bad guys and seen allies and lovers perish as well. However, only Daniel Craig had the courage to make 007 die. And it turns out that the emotional and explosive finale of Ian Fleming’s No Time To Die for the Spy was years in the making.

In 2006, after the Berlin premiere of Casino Royale, Daniel Craig asked Barbara Broccoli how many of these Bond movies she had to make. 007’s producer told him four, and he replied, “Oh, okay. Can I kill him at last?

She secretly agreed, with the star telling Variety after the release of No Time To Die: “So, I struck a deal with her back then and said, ‘This is how I’d like it to be.’ She stayed true to her guns.”

However, since then, some fans have been confused as to exactly how “James Bond Will Return” promised the end credits. Craig explained how in a new interview where he revealed the two reasons why he wanted to kill his 007.

Craig added: “And I was like, ‘Well, you need to restart again.’ So let’s kill off my character and find another Bond and find another story. It starts at [age] 23, it starts at 25, it starts at 30.” The No Time To Die star was 38 when Casino Royale hit theaters in 2006.

Interestingly, he thinks they should start much younger this time. Although, 007 producer Michael G Wilson has admitted that they are looking for a thirty-something actor as Bond is already “a veteran” having served as a major in the Royal Navy.
