Michael Jackson was defended by Lisa Marie Presley after ultimatum

Michael Jackson was just 50 years old when he was found dead in his Los Angeles home after cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009. Tragically, his ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley has suffered the same fate in the last 24 hours at 54 years old. King of Pop married Elvis Presley’s daughter on May 26, 1994, but the relationship did not end well.

Their marriage did not last long. This was mainly because Michael insisted that he wanted children as soon as possible after the wedding. However, Lisa Marie had different ideas. She already had children from her previous marriage, so she didn’t want to rush into having them anymore. But Michael didn’t like her response, so he threatened Lisa Marie that she would get her friend and confidante Debbie Rowe to have her children in her place.

She said Michael was used to asking people around him, “If you’re not going to do it, this person is going to do it. Are you going to do it or not?” Despite these harsh comments, Lisa Marie defended her actions.

Lisa Marie said, “Michael wasn’t a bad person, he didn’t know any better.” Despite this, she added: “I took it very personally, I felt that it was disposable.”

He told Oprah Winfrey in 2010 that he knew Debbie was constantly in contact with Michael. And she also knew that Debbie was telling the King of Pop that she would give birth to her children.

“He told me,” she recalled. “‘If you’re not going to do it, Debbie said she will.'” And we argued because that was not the way to handle it. But that’s how he knew how to handle it.” But Lisa Marie knew that she had to have a stable home life to bring up children.

Lisa Marie said: “I just wanted to make sure. I was looking ahead and I was thinking, ‘I don’t want to have a custody battle with him again. I don’t want to do this, I don’t want to go toe-to-toe with him, so I need to make sure everything is okay.'”

“I had children,” he added. “And he knew that bringing children in certain circumstances has to make sure that everything is safe and okay. And I wanted to make sure that he and I were very, very close because we were going to face a lot of things.”

Unfortunately, Michael’s wishes for children sooner rather than later were enough to break up the marriage. Lisa Marie filed for divorce in January 1996, after 18 months of marriage. They cited “irreconcilable differences.” Before long, Michael began looking elsewhere to get what he wanted.

Michael married Debbie in November 1996, just 10 months after splitting from Lisa Marie.

Three months later, on February 13, 1997, Michael’s first child, Prince Jackson, was born. And they didn’t stop there.

A year later, on April 3, 1998, Paris Jackson was born.

After the birth of their first two children, Michael’s marriage to Debbie did not last much longer.

Michael divorced Debbie in 1999. She signed custody rights to both children. In exchange, Debbie received an $8 million settlement and a house in Beverly Hills, California.

However, their relationship did not end there. In 2006, Debbie sued Michael for an immediate payment of $195,000 and a payment of $50,000 to start a child custody case. Michael paid $60,000 in legal fees.

Later, Michael’s mother, Katharine Jackson, granted visitation rights to her children after Michael’s death.
