Matthew Perry Has a Hard Take on One of Hollywood’s Hottest A-Listers

In his memoir, Matthew Perry surprisingly revealed that he has disdain for none other than Keanu Reeves. Well, he’s not so much a disdain; it’s more so that Perry wishes the “Matrix” actor was dead instead of others from his generation of actors who tragically died young. I’m not sure if that’s better or worse.
“Why do original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?” Perry poses in the memoir of him (via page six). That’s a pretty blunt way of putting it, but it’s unclear exactly why Perry feels that way about the “John Wick” actor specifically. Reeves was a great friend of Phoenix before he died in 1993, according to Don. Speaking about the sad death of his friend, comedian Chris Farley, Perry echoes this sentiment about Reeves. “Broken a hole in Jennifer Aniston’s dressing room wall when I found out,” she wrote. “Keanu Reeves walks among us.”
Yes, Perry is known for his dry sarcasm, but this doesn’t sound like a joke. Especially since Phoenix and Farley both died of drug overdoses, and Perry revealed that he, too, nearly died when his colon burst from overuse of opioids. Perhaps when the full memoirs are released on November 1, we’ll get some context for this surprising feud.
