Mario Kart 8 Wave 3 DLC Release Date, Time & NEW Booster Courses

Nintendo Switch owners are in for a treat this week as more DLC is coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Wave 3 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass has a release date of December 7. There’s no exact release time, but new Nintendo Switch releases usually drop around 3pm GMT UK time. Like previous expansions, Wave 3 contains two cups and eight courses, including the Merry Mountain festive track.

First up is the Rock Cup, which contains Mario Kart Tour’s Wii, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 3DS, and London Loop courses on mobile.

First appearing in Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Boo Lake is described as a “spooky Boo-filled track set in a haunted lake.”

Then there’s Mario Kart 7’s Alpine Pass, in which players dodge trees and rocks as they race down a mountain. Speaking of trees, Mario Kart Wii’s Maple Treeway has players running up the branches and through the foliage.

Next up is Moon Cup, which contains Berlin Byways and Merry Mountain from Mario Kart Tour, as well as Peach Gardens from Mario Kart DS and Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 7.

Merry Mountain is the perfect field for Christmas, complete with giant candy canes, a festive village and decorative gifts.

Wave 3 will be followed by three additional expansion packs in 2023, complete with another 24 courses.

Nintendo Switch owners can purchase all of the Booster Course DLC from the Nintendo eShop for £22.99.

Alternatively, Expansion Pass+ subscribers can access each wave at no additional cost as part of their membership.

The Expansion Pass also grants access to a host of classic N64 and Sega Mega Drive games, as well as DLC content from Animal Crossing and Splatoon.
