Liz Truss’ relationship with the royal family explained

Once news of Queen Elizabeth II’s death was announced, tributes poured in from world leaders who had met or worked with the late monarch, including Liz Truss. “The death of Her Majesty the Queen is a great shock to the nation and the world,” the prime minister said in part in a declaration. “…We will be gathering with our friends from across the UK, the Commonwealth and the world to celebrate his extraordinary life of service.”

And celebrate it, they did. After her death, the UK declared a 10-day period of mourning, which ended with a state funeral, according to People. The televised event, held on September 19, 2022, was attended by Truss, United States President Joe Biden, and several other leaders from around the world. But not only did Truss attend, he also played an important role. According to yahoo! LifeTruss read a Bible prayer passage from chapter 14 of John’s Gospel at the funeral, verse 1 through verse 9. “Do not let your hearts be troubled; you believe in God,” she began. “…If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and I will take you with me, so that where I am, you may also be. And you know where I am going, and you know the way.”
