Joshua has three ‘dream’ fights as Hearn lays out 2023 plans

“If you’re looking at the next three fights that you expect him to have, maybe you’ll go with Dillian Whyte, [Deontay] Wilder, Fury,” Hearn told the assembled media on Thursday. “I mean it would be the dream year, but probably one of them would be good the way it’s going.”

“I feel like AJ – Wilder is just a massive world heavyweight fight. Two titans that the fight could end at any moment. I think it’s a tremendous fight.”

Joshua is expected to return to the ring in early 2023. After suffering back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, AJ is looking to regain his confidence again with ‘two quick fights’ against ‘top 15 credible opponents’.

“I got a couple of calls about it yesterday, I didn’t even tell Gerald. If AJ is really into it, then Gerald is ten times better than he was the last time they saw him fight, so it would be a nice element of surprise for them.

“Also, I think Gerald has the ability to beat almost any heavyweight in the world, it just comes down to staying on his toes throughout the fight. I got calls from camps telling me ‘Gerald is doing great’ and watching him box Deontay for the last three weeks, he gave us a great look. He really looked at us very well when he came back from the Usyk camp, like very, very well.”
