Johnny Depp Is Confident In The Return Of Pirates Of The Caribbean 6

Pirates of the Caribbean boss Jerry Bruckheimer just gave a rare interview in which he spoke candidly about the future of the series. At the moment, fans are wondering if and when Pirates 6 will hit theaters, and if Johnny Depp would be involved. Disney fans have now received their most promising update yet.

After the release of the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales, Depp was written out of the swashbuckling series in 2018. The news followed allegations that he had abused his wife at the time, Amber Heard. Since then, a brutal and public court battle has taken place in recent years. Depp ultimately won the battle, earning him a staggering $10 million in damages.

The trial even included Depp telling lawyers and the judge that he would “never” play Captain Jack Sparrow again in the future.

That said, Bruckheimer, who is a close friend of Depp’s as well as his boss, was questioned about the future of Edward Scissorhands’ star on the series.

Following Depp’s victory in the court battle against Heard, Bruckheimer was asked if this meant that Disney would once again cast him as the lead in the film series. He replied: “You would have to ask [Disney]. I can’t answer that question. I really do not know”.

With that said, he talked about his own hopes for the future of the series.

Bruckheimer said, “I’d love to have him in the film. He’s a friend, an excellent actor, and it’s unfortunate that personal lives creep into everything we do.”

Depp’s story as Captain Jack Sparrow isn’t finished yet, so if he were to return, he’d still have plenty of content to act on.

Interestingly though, Bruckheimer also revealed that there are not one, but two Pirates of the Caribbean movies in the pipeline at Disney.

On the delay of Pirates 6, Bruckheimer said, “Oh, gosh, they’re all difficult. I think we’re getting pretty close to that too. We’ve got a really good script. We developed two of them, one with Margot Robbie and one with a bigger cast. young”.

That said, Bruckheimer added, “Margot Robbie’s one needs a little more work. The younger cast is close. Hopefully we’ll get them both.”

Earlier this month, Robbie revealed in an interview that his Pirates of the Caribbean movie was no longer in production. She told Vanity Fair: “We had an idea and we were developing it for a while, a long time ago, to have a more female-led story, not totally female-led, but just a different kind of story, which we thought would be “. It’s been great, but I guess [Disney] I do not want to do it”.

However, Bruckheimer did not agree entirely. After being questioned about Robbie’s archived film, he says that he is still in the cards.

Bruckheimer said: “It’s alive for me. It’s alive for Disney. I’m sure she was disappointed that it didn’t come out first, or maybe not because she’s so busy, so it could be a blessing to push this a bit. We think we’ll It’s a very strong story.”

There have been no further details about the second Pirates movie, which we now know centers on a “younger cast.”

Fans have also been left in the dark as to whether Depp will be returning anytime soon.

The Pirates of the Caribbean movies are now available to watch on Disney Plus.
