John Lennon’s ex described the moment he joined the Beatle with Yoko

John Lennon met Yoko Ono, who turns 90 today, Saturday, February 18, 2023, in 1966 when they met in a gallery in London, England. Over the next two years, the Beatles star spent more and more time with the Japanese artist and secretly fell in love with her. Eventually, her relationship turned romantic, and it all came to a head when Lennon invited her to her house while her wife, Cynthia Lennon, was on vacation.
Cynthia married John in 1962 after being together since their teens, and she stood by him as The Beatles exploded in popularity and became the biggest band on the planet.
They also had a son together, Julian Lennon, who was born on April 8, 1963. He was named after John’s mother, Julia, who was killed in a hit-and-run five years earlier in 1958.
But once Yoko came onto the scene in 1966, John’s focus shifted to this mysterious new woman. John began to spend more and more time with the woman, who was seven years older than him, while Cynthia became suspicious when Yoko kept calling her house at all hours of the day to talk to John. When asked what Yoko wanted, John told Cynthia that he was seeking donations for her “vanguard bulls”.
Two years after John met Yoko, in May 1968, Cynthia wanted to go on vacation. John told her to go ahead without him. Once she left the country, John invited Yoko to her house.
John and Yoko made music together at their house that night. They recorded what would later become their Two Virgins album, which was released on November 11, 1968. John later confirmed that they “made love at dawn” after staying up all night writing songs.
Cynthia returned the next morning. She entered her house and found Yoko wearing her bathrobe and having tea with John on the sofa. Surprised by her arrival, she simply exclaimed, “Oh hello.”
Cynthia then recalled the events in her own words, revealing that she met Yoko that fateful morning when she found out about John’s infidelity.
Cynthia said: “I actually met her when I got home from a holiday. But I had seen her before; I mean I met her physically, you could say.”
Recalling that shocking morning, he added: “She had stayed with John that night, and I came home and they were there, which was kind of a curtain on our marriage, as far as all of us were concerned, really.”
Cynthia went on to confess that she had a “female intuition” about John’s relationship with Yoko. Despite this, she added to Cynthia, she knew there was nothing she could do to stop it from happening.
Cynthia said, “You know something is going to happen, and only you know something like this is going to happen, because of your sensitivity and your knowledge of the person you’ve been living with for ten years. You know exactly what it is.” It will happen.”
“As for Yoko,” he added. “I knew there was nothing she could do about it, any more than she could do about John taking drugs at the time. There was no way she could have stopped him.”
John and Cynthia divorced later that year in 1968. A year later (1969), he married Yoko. They stayed together until he was assassinated in 1980.
