Henry Cavill was ‘glad’ about Casino Royale’s brutal comments

Tonight at 8pm Casino Royale hits ITV screens. The film marked the first time Daniel Craig played James Bond on the big screen, kicking off his 15-year five-film adventure, recently interrupted by No Time To Die. But before Craig was hired, Henry Cavill was in the running to become the next 007. However, in a tragic set of circumstances, the weight of him stopped him.

Cavill auditioned the same way all James Bond candidates do: by acting out a scene from Sean Connery’s first 007 film, Dr. No. The scene in question involved him walking around in a towel with a gun in his hand, proving that he was sexy at the same time. and deadly

However, once he was in front of the film’s director, things went south, fast. Cavill admitted: “I probably could have prepared myself better. I remember the director, Martin Campbell, saying, ‘He looks a bit chubby, Henry.'”

Cavill previously confessed that he was a “chubby kid” and had struggled with his weight growing up.

She also admitted that, at the time, she “didn’t know how to train or diet.” But ultimately he was happy with the way he developed.

Even though Cavill didn’t get the role of James Bond, his journey as 007 may not be over yet.

Daniel Craig has since resigned from the role, so there is a void that needs to be filled. Recently, while on The Graham Norton Show, Cavill opened up about rumors that he might be in the running for the new 007. He said: “If [Bond bosses] Barbara [Broccoli] and mike [G Wilson] were interested in it, I would definitely jump at the chance. At this stage, everything is up in the air. We’ll see what happens. But yeah, I would love to play Bond, it would be very, very exciting.”

He added: “I would definitely have a conversation. From what I understand, there are very early conversations at the top, but there is no list as such.”

However, the odds on Bond tell a different story.

At the time of writing, Cavill is at the top of the Bond odds at 5/1 from Ladbrokes. However, he is not alone.

Cavill is head-to-head with Bridgerton heartthrob Regé-Jean Page, who is also 5/1. However, despite his leadership, Page has previously stated that he believes his inclusion in the Bond run is nothing more than “flattery”.

Meanwhile, fan favorite Tom Hardy is also in the running at a staggering 7/1. However, the British star refuses to talk about the role, as he doesn’t want to miss out.
