Henry Cavill Returns As Superman ‘In Three New DC Movies’

After losing to Daniel Craig at the James Bond auditions for Casino Royale, Henry Cavill nonetheless continued to progress in his career, ultimately bagging Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel. Since then, his beloved Clark Kent has starred in Batman v. Superman and two versions of the Justice League. However, his future in the franchise has remained uncertain for years, until now.
Thanks to the producing power of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Cavill was able to make a cameo appearance in Black Adam’s mid-credits scene last weekend, getting fans excited that their Superman was finally back in the franchise.
The Witcher star took to social media to share how glad he was to be back in the role, just as James Gunn takes over the recently rebooted DC Studios as co-CEO of Warner Bros.
The 39-year-old captioned his post: “A little taste of what’s to come my friends. The dawn of renewed hope. Thank you for your patience, it will be rewarded.”
According to the outlet, Cavill will play Superman in Black Adam 2, Man of Steel 2, and Justice League 2.
The former isn’t a surprise given his cameo in the first film and The Rock’s desire to see superheroes battle each other on the big screen. Warner Bros is rumored to be looking for writers for Man of Steel 2, but Justice League 2 will be a big surprise.
It took a lot for the Snyder Cut to launch with its cliffhanger ending, but perhaps Gunn and his team plan on letting the sequel the director originally planned be made?
