Fury breaks silence on weight loss and confirms new opponent

Tommy Fury has confirmed that he is still fighting on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Deji Olatunji undercard later tonight. The former Love Island star was given a new opponent after losing weight for his original contest against Paul Bamba, leading to that fight being cancelled.

According to Bamba, no agreement could be reached between him and promoters Global Titans for a new deal after Fury fell short of the agreed light heavyweight limit of 6.8 pounds.

During an interview with Fred talks about fightingHe said: “Global Titans has canceled my event due to the lack of being able to reach a mutual agreement. They did not give me what I wanted, they have been telling people that they offered me a lot of things.”

“Ultimately, when I get home and there’s a lot less to worry about, I’ll talk a lot more about it. But at the end of the day, there were separate contracts by weight, like I said, which isn’t fair.” I don’t know whose fault it is, I don’t blame anyone.”

This was followed by a separate statement saying: “Just to clarify. I made the weight specified in MY contract. As I have in every fight I have ever fought. If Paul Bamba was told a different weight what he had to do for this fight? That has NOTHING to do with me. See you tonight.”

The fight was billed as a light heavyweight contest. However, it appears that Fury was given more leeway over his weight, which Bamba claims he was not aware of.
