Fortnite developer Epic Games is gearing up to unleash a new season of Battle Royale. The current season comes to a close with the Fracture event on December 3 at 9 p.m. The downtime is expected to last over 12 hours, which means Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 will have a December 4 release date and a release time between 7-9am GMT.
Fortnite developer Epic Games will confirm start times after the Fracture event ends, so check back later for more details.
If you want to participate in the Fracture event, Epic recommends logging in 30 minutes before the start of the action.
Unusually though, the Fortnite developer has confirmed that fans will also be able to join mid-event, so it shouldn’t make much of a difference if you’re late.
It’s also worth noting that anyone who logs in before and during the event will receive a free emote for participating.
As for Chapter 4 Season 1, fans can expect big changes to the Fortnite map, which is going to undergo a major redesign for the start of a new era.
According to Fortnite insiders like Hypex and Shiina, the new map is codenamed Asteria.
Speaking of leaks, the new season is expected to introduce motorbikes to the Island. Similarly, players will also be able to ride flying animals.
Perhaps most exciting of all is the rumored first-person mode, which will completely transform the way fans experience the game.
That’s in addition to the release of Unreal Editor for Creative 2.0, which will allow players to create much more advanced worlds.
Battle Pass leaks are likely to drop during the downtime, though there is speculation that the long-awaited Family Guy crossover, or One Piece, could happen.
With the new Avatar movie releasing later this month, don’t be surprised if Epic releases a few Avatar skins, either in the Item Shop or as part of the Battle Pass.
Express Online will keep this story updated with the latest developments, so check back for more information.
