After a disappointing 12 months at Manchester United, Harry Maguire appears to have rediscovered his confidence and passion for football with England after being included in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad. However, despite only starting five Premier League games for United, Maguire had his place with Southgate all but secured due to his previous form and leadership, especially during England’s run to the semi-finals of the Premier League. World in 2018.
Maguire’s form there contributed to earning a world record £80 million move to United the following summer after producing a series of impressive displays. And ahead of the winter tournament in Qatar, which begins on Sunday, fans believe Maguire is returning to his best.
