England, next rival if they beat the United States and reach the round of 16 of the World Cup

If England falls to second in their group, they will play a day earlier, on December 3. Both positions will pit England against the winner or runners-up of Group A.
The Netherlands and Ecuador currently occupy the top two spots in Group A, although Senegal also has every chance to sneak in. England and the Netherlands have not met in a major tournament since Euro 1996.
Goals from Alan Shearer and Teddy Sheringham helped England defeat the Dutch 4-1 to top their group. England faced Ecuador in the 2006 World Cup at the round of 16 stage with David Beckham’s goal proving the difference for the Three Lions.
England have never met Senegal in their history and this tournament could be the first time they have met.
