Brian May teases new music for 2023 as he wishes fans Merry Christmas

Brian May may be 75 years old, but he shows no signs of slowing down, having just completed a very busy year. As well as re-releasing his second solo album, Another World, the guitarist has performed with Queen and Adam Lambert on their massive UK and European tour. This included the iconic opening of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee concert, in which the late monarch and Paddington Bear performed We Will Rock, something suggested by the rock star himself. It may be Christmas now, but Brian is already looking into the new year, teasing fans with the music he plans to drop in 2023.

Always active on his Instagram, Brian posted a Christmas Eve message with decorations behind him. The Queen legend simply said in this video: “Merry Christmas folks! Wherever you are… peace!” But it was the video of her from a little earlier in the week that really got fans incredibly excited.

Images in this post showed Brian playing his Red Special guitar in front of a Christmas tree with the caption: “This is a sneak peek…of something good coming in January. Bri.” The beginning of the mystery only sounds a bit like We Are The Champions, while the rock legend shared more in the caption of his post.

Brian wrote: “This is what’s known in the trade as ‘STING’…and I hope you’ll hear it early next year when it’s all revealed! I love going to the studio to do something new, like start writing words on a new piece of paper… and in the studio I get lost. For a few moments, I’m immersed in the music we’re creating, and that’s my whole world. Of course, sometimes I miss my friends… Happy Winter Solstice, folks! From now on, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth, currently frozen, the days are getting longer, the Sun warms our skin and Spring is already flexing its wings. Go ahead !!! Bri.” What could it be? Brian may be working on a new solo project, though the fact that he said “the music we’re creating” suggests something collaborative.

New Queen music with Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert is always a possibility, although it sounds like it could be something with Kerry Ellis. The singer has released singles and albums with Brian and another video from earlier in the week featuring the guitarist in the same position as his latest preview mentions her.

In this post, the 75-year-old said: “A moment of the season doing one of my favorite things – playing guitar for @kerryellis79! This is a special appearance for a very moving track on their new album due for release in 2023. And now… Back to Starfleet! And some stereoscopic asteroid adventures… Greetings to all, Bri ”. Regardless of what you have planned for the New Year’s reveal, fans are unlikely to be disappointed.
