Arsenal would delight two players by launching the smart signing of Gakpo

Arsenal would ease the burden on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli if they sign PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo. The Gunners were linked with the Dutchman in the summer and could release a play in January.
Gakpo is one of the best players in Europe so far this season. He has already registered more than 20 goal contributions for PSV after enjoying the best campaign of his career last season.
Arsenal were interested in signing a winger in the summer, with Wolves star Pedo Neto a prime target. But Gakpo could now feature prominently on Mikel Arteta’s agenda.
That would lessen the workload for both Saka and Martinelli. The duo have started every Premier League match so far this season.

They have also featured regularly in the Europa League due to Arteta only having a small team to choose from. Gakpo’s versatility means he can play on the front line, giving Saka and Martinelli a chance to rest when needed, but without diminishing the quality on the pitch.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth says Arsenal are interested in Gakpo but suggests a summer move for the £38m-valued star would be more likely. He said: “Arsenal is interesting because, throughout the transfer window, I think the right side of the attack was a priority position.
“Now, Gakpo’s priority position, and the preferred position, is the left, but he can play in the center and he can play on the right. At the moment, Saka is occupying that right side of the three forwards at the moment.
“He would be someone Arsenal would look at. I think he would also fit the profile, as far as Arteta is concerned, because we know what he is trying to build a team of young players who have high ceilings and high potential.” so it could be one that Arsenal consider in January, potentially, but summer is more realistic.

Saka has appeared in each of Arsenal’s last 50 Premier League games, starting 50 of them. He only turned 21 last month, but Arteta said recently that he needs to get used to playing every three or four days.
The Spaniard said: “Look at the best players in the world, they play 70 games and [play] every three days and make the difference and win the game. You want to be at the top, you have to be able to do that.
“If we start to put something different in the minds of our young players, I think we’re making a big mistake because then it’s a yes, a no, now I don’t play, astroturf I don’t play, I don’t play.” I do not want that”.
