Andy Murray recalls ‘finishing’ Roger Federer at dinner with Borg

Andy Murray has revealed that he had dinner with Roger Federer and Bjorn Borg before the Swiss star’s retirement from the Laver Cup, which involved “a lot of emotions”. The Briton and fellow Big Four members Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic joined forces to bid farewell to one of his biggest rivals when Federer hung up his racket during the team event.
Murray made his Laver Cup debut in September in what was the first and last time the Big Four had appeared on the same team, representing Europe in the final tournament of Federer’s career. The three-time Grand Slam champion watched as the 41-year-old played his last match alongside Nadal in doubles, and now recalls spending the week with Federer in London.
Ahead of the fifth edition of the Laver Cup, the 35-year-old revealed that he went to dinner with Federer and Team Europe captain Borg, although it was not a serious matter. “There were quite a few problems in general and they were picking on each other to be honest,” he said. Hellotalking about his experience in the team.
“I went out to dinner one night with Roger and Bjorn Borg, it was a really fun evening, although Bjorn spent most of the night joking around with me.” Away from the fun, Murray also got the unique experience of practicing with his three biggest rivals.
