Aerosmith cancels another show due to unknown illness – ‘We apologize’

Aerosmith fans have received a double dose of bad news in recent days. After the band canceled one of their Las Vegas residency shows just a few days ago, the rock group has now canceled a second event. The group posted an image on their social media accounts revealing the circumstances of the show’s cancellation.

Aerosmith posted on their Twitter account: “Unfortunately, tomorrow’s show, Monday December 5th, in Las Vegas has to be cancelled.” They went on to add, “We sincerely apologize.” (sic)

The statement was accompanied by a message from the band’s singer, Steven Tyler, who revealed that he is the one who is unwell and unable to perform.

He said: “Following my doctor’s advice, I’m taking more time to rest… There’s nowhere we’d rather be than on stage surrounded by the best fans in the world.” (sic)

The 74-year-old American star did not reveal any information about his mysterious illness, but this is the second time he has canceled a show at the last minute.

Just a few days ago, on Saturday December 3, 2022, Aerosmith canceled another residency show.

They released a sad statement at the time explaining what was going on behind the scenes. He said: “It is a great disappointment that we are forced to cancel tonight’s show in Las Vegas due to Steven feeling unwell and unable to perform. He is expected to make a full recovery on Monday nights.” [sic] Las Vegas show. We sincerely apologize for the last minute notice.”

Aerosmith is currently playing their residency Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas slot. The band performs at the Dolby Live Amphitheater at the Park MGM Casino.

Tyler and his band, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, kicked off the residency on April 6, 2019.

Aerosmith was forced to pause the residency in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But they returned to the stage on September 13, 2022. The shows will run until December 11, 2022.

In May, more shows were canceled when Aerosmith announced that Tyler had checked into a rehab facility to “focus on his health and recovery.” This move followed a relapse into addiction after 10 years of sobriety.

In July, a representative for Tyler confirmed that he had left the facility. They said, “he’s doing extremely well and he’s looking forward to getting back on stage.”
